==The Company==

Vault-Tec was a pre-war corporation which was responsible, under orders from the U.S. government, to build the shelters that would come to be known as Vaults. Its corporate headquarters is located in Washington DC, which is outside the [[FOnline:_2238]] [[The_World|game zone]].

122 Vaults were built, only 17 of which were designed for purely preserving human life. The other 105 were each designed around some sort of social experiment, most of which led to mass hysteria, murder, radiation, mutation, or other unpleasant results among the inhabitants.

Due to Vault-Tec's extensive manufacture of numerous goods, ranging from vaults to handbooks to supplies for the vaults, the name is well known in the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout.

In Los Angeles, known today as the [[Boneyard]], there were Vault-tec magazines, and the [[vault]] built for demonstration purposes. This Vault no longer exists, having been destroyed by the Vault Dweller. Where this vault once stood, now only a crater remains.
Wiki Project: Weapons Improvements

Gunduz:

The [[Weapons]] Improvement is a project which aims to improve current weapons articles. The goal of this project is to give several informations about a weapon, so that even a new player can try to use it with the same attack modes and tactics as a skilled fighter. The goal is also to inform players about the weapons their attackers can have, what is their weak points, and how to obtain the same.

== Improving an article ==
* Adding '''basic infos''', for example...
** How can you get this weapon (Crafting (High requirements or not) ? Trading with players (Do the players often sell it) ? Trading with a special NPC ?).
** While in a team, which tactics fits the best to this weapon (Example : Sniper Rifle => Not in first line).
** Is it a useful weapon against armored targets ? Against ALL armors ? Unarmored targets ?

* Explaining which weapon is quite the same, but can be considered as '''a bit weaker/stronger''' (Example : On the LSW page, you can explain that M60<LSW<Minigun in terms of damage done).

* '''Giving its advantages and its disadvantages''', such as price, weapon availability, range, damage, ammo availability, AP taken to shoot, etc.

* '''Describing''' the different attacks and especially the situations in which those attacks can be useful (Single Shot, Aimed Shots or Burst ? You don't use them in same cases. AP cost is high or not ?). This is also important for Melee/Unarmed weapons.

* Making '''links''' in the text, for example instead of Rocket Launcher write <nowiki>[[Rocket Launcher]]</nowiki> (Which gives [[Rocket Launcher]]).

* '''Redirecting''' plurals, different cases or abbreviations to the good article. For example, articles names [[LSW]], [[Light Support Weapons]], [[Light support Weapon]], [[Light support weapon]], [[Light support Weapons]] etc. all have to redirect to [[Light Support Weapon]].

* '''Do not''' edit [[AHS-9]] tables, that include weapons' stats.

* '''Do not''' add your personal point of view on a weapon, unless you have decent arguments.

== Project steps ==
* Check the list below. Tell (to Izual or by editing this article, in front of the weapon's name) which weapons you will improve, or move it directly to your part.
* This weapon will now be moved into your part. When you finished editing the weapon article, add the <nowiki>{{</nowiki>[[Done]]<nowiki>}}</nowiki> ({{Done}}) template to say that the article is improved.
* Someone highly trusted will check your articles and :
** Edit your part and add, after the {{Done}} symbol, what's to change.
** Edit your part and add, after the {{Done}} symbol, the symbol {{Checked}} (<nowiki>{{</nowiki>[[Checked]]<nowiki>}}</nowiki>) that means the article is checked and nothing left has to be done.
* Repeat step one. You can take care of several weapons at a time, not one by one (For example, you can decide to improve all the Melee weapons, etc).

== Weapons to improve ==

== Improving an article ==

== Project steps ==

== Improving an article ==

== Project steps ==

== Weapons to improve ==

Welcome to the help page. This will serve as a helpful list of commands and syntax for the wiki, as well as providing other general instructions. If you need further help, please visit the wiki IRC channel on irc.forestnet.org on channel #2238wiki.

== Wiki Syntax ==

*Surrounding text with three apostrophes will make <nowiki>'''boldface'''</nowiki> appear as '''boldface'''.
*Surrounding text with two apostrophes will make <nowiki>''italicized''</nowiki> appear as ''italicized''.
*Surrounding text with <nowiki><u> and </u></nowiki> will make <nowiki><u>underlined</u></nowiki> appear as <u>underlined</u>.
*Surrounding text with <nowiki><s> and </s></nowiki> will make <nowiki><s>strikeout</s></nowiki> appear as <s>strikeout</s>.
*Using the tag <nowiki><br></nowiki> will create a <br>manual line break.
*Beginning a line with one asterisk <nowiki>*</nowiki> creates a bullet.
** Using two stars <nowiki>**</nowiki> at the beginning of a line will create an indented bullet, like in this line.

=== Headings ===

*To create a heading such as the Wiki Syntax above, use <nowiki> == Wiki Syntax == </nowiki>.
*To create a heading such as the Headings section here, use <nowiki> === Headings === </nowiki>.

== Creating Links ==

*Surrounding text with brackets will create a link inside the wiki, so <nowiki>[[Small Guns]]</nowiki> becomes a link to the small guns page at [[Small Guns]].
*Using brackets again, posting an outside link inside the brackets, followed by a space, followed by a title, will create a link to another webpage. <nowiki>[[http://www.wikipedia.org Wikipedia]]</nowiki> becomes a link to the page http://www.wikipedia.org with the title 'Wikipedia'. [[http://www.wikipedia.org Wikipedia]]. This can also be done with links inside the wiki like [[Small Guns| link]], but the name of the page and the title of the link must be separated by a |.
*Links can also be created to subheadings of pages, for example <nowiki>[[Boneyard#Adytum]]</nowiki> links to the Adytum section of the Boneyard page in [[Boneyard#Adytum]].

=== Redirects ===

*A redirect is a code that automatically links the user to one page when visiting another. For example, if .223 was searched for in this wiki, the page .223 has a redirect that automatically loads .223 FMJ. To create a redirect, use the code

<nowiki>#REDIRECT [[page]]</nowiki>

where page is the destination.

== Uploading and Posting Images ==

*To upload a file, use the link in the 'toolbox' section of the menu on the left titled 'Upload file'.
*To keep quality consistent, it is recommended that you upload files in .gif format.
*To insert an image into a page, use <nowiki> [[File:meleeweapons.gif]]</nowiki> where meleeweapons.gif is the name of the file.
*To adjust an image, use <nowiki> [[File:File.gif|200px|thumb|left|caption]] </nowiki>, which will display file.gif as 200 pixels wide, inside a box on the left side of the page, with the text 'caption' below it.

== Wiki Advice and Instructions ==

*Do not add any information to Player-made factions at this time.
*Do not edit any tables on weapon, armor, or item pages about the items or crafting. Also do not edit critter pages. You may add text to the page, just do not do it inside the {{Braces...
*Use the preview command before you save a page. When adding many links or pictures, it is helpful to make sure that all of the code is in correctly.
*If your English is poor, do not be ashamed. Just post a link to the page you've created here [[To do#Pages waiting for english language improvements/Mistakes checking| to be checked]]. You can also post here when you'd just like someone to look over your page.
<br>
*The settings for your account on this wiki can be very helpful. It is recommended that you set your timezone, and it never hurts to edit the page about yourself.
*Under editing settings, allowing either double-clicking on the page or right-clicking on the title allows you to edit quickly.

== Creating Links ==

=== Redirects ===

== Wiki Advice and Instructions ==

*Do not add any information to Player-made factions at this time.
*Do not edit any tables on weapon, armor, or item pages about the items or crafting. Also do not edit critter pages. You may add text to the page, just do not do it inside the {{Braces...
The '''Lost Hills''' bunker is the main base of the [[Brotherhood of Steel]] in [[FOnline: 2238]] (And in [[Fallout]] as well). It is an underground base containing 4 levels. You are able to enter it once you have joined the [[Brotherhood of Steel faction]].

=== Level 1 ===
This level hosts the training chamber for the Brotherhood knights, and also the storage room, where all the Brotherhood's technology is located. There is also the guards room, where surface guards spend their time. The elevator to go to the other levels is located in the south-west of this level.

=== Level 2 ===
This level hosts the living quarters for initiates, their classroom, and the base's medical lab. Surgeries are performed here, since the Brotherhood's doctors spend their time in the infirmary, supplied with heavy medical technology. The new members also learn how to become a Knight or a Scribe here.

=== Level 3 ===
This level hosts the Scribes and the Knights. They both live and work here, the Scribes in the library full of computers, and the Knights in the workshop. There, you can learn some [[professions]] levels (In the eastern room). This is also the place where the new Brotherhood's technology gets invented and reproduced.

=== Level 4 ===
[[File:Lhresign.jpg|thumb|The computers to use to resign from the [[Brotherhood of Steel faction]].]]
This level hosts the command center, the true Brotherhood's headquarter. The Elders live here. Each one has his own quarters in this level, and they usually spend their time in the conference room or the auditorium, sometimes full of Knights awaiting their briefing. In this heavily guarded level the Brotherhood's data is also located, stored in computers. This is the level where you can resign from the [[Brotherhood of Steel faction]].
Bases

Gunduz:

Bases are the core of [[FOnline: 2238]]. It was, at the very beginning of [[FOnline]], the first difference between the two servers. At that time, FOnline: 2238 was still called ''Factions Mod''. By taking a base, your gang gets a [[faction name]], a safe place to store its stuff and a computer to add or remove players from the team. That last advantage is one of the main differences with a simple [[tent]], for example. Faction bases will appear in blue on the [[worldmap]].

If base's terminal isn't used by a member at least '''once every four weeks''', the base and the gang name will be removed.

== To buy a base ==

=== The trade ===

You can buy your bases in [[Redding]], [[Klamath]] and [[Junktown]]. Each time, the base seller is a trapper into the town's main bar. Bases cost '''30 000 [[caps]]''', '''70 000 caps''' or '''130 000 caps'''. Talk to the trapper while a few members of your gang (Two or three) are arrowed on you and very close to the trapper, then tell him what kind of base you wish - depending on price. Clicking on the "say" button, you will be able to write you own [[faction name]] (It has to be on that list). Well done, your faction is made, your gang has a base that you can see on the [[worldmap]] !

==== Particular case : Members of another faction ====
If you are already part of a faction (Like Vault City, the Mordinos, a players gang, etc), you won't be able to buy a base. You have to resign first from their faction and then try to buy a base or getting invited in some players base.

=== Base management ===
[[File:Bases invite.jpg|thumb| From the "Manage Members" option, you can add a new member to your faction.]]
[[File:Bases memberlist.jpg|thumb| In the "Manage Members" menu, leaders of the faction can manage their mates.]]

==== Add a member ====
You have to be the leader of the faction or an important member to do so :
* "Manage members".
* "Invite new member".
* Select "Say", and write the name of the player you want to add. He has to be logged in, and when you'll have wrote his name, he will be "Invited". "Invited" players can't see your base on the [[worldmap]] but can't be attacked by the [[mercs]] guarding your base either.

All this being done, you have to bring the new member to your base. He will use the computer and accept your invitation : From that time, he will be a member of your faction and will see the base on the worldmap.

==== Promote/Demote ====
You have to be of an higher rang than the player you want to promote/demote.
* "Manage members".
* "Promote member".
* Select "Say" and add the name of the player you want to promote.
Or :
* "Manage members".
* "Browse members list".
* Browse the list and select "promote" when you are on the right page.

===== Setting a new leader =====
To set a new leader, the actual leader has to resign (he can be invited again right after this). When he resigns, the highest promoted member will be set leader instead. If there are more than one player at the highest rank (Right before leader), one of them is chosen randomly.

==== Protect your base ====

You can put some [[mercs]] or [[slaves]] in your base to defend it. They will kill any enemy entering your base (Either because of a betrayal or a successful [[tracking]]). Tell them to guard the place, and to shoot at anyone who isn't a member of your faction.

== Available bases maps ==

==== Cave ====
[[File:Base-cave-medium.jpg|thumb|The ''Cave'' base]]
* '''Cost:''' 30 000 caps
* '''Towns:''' [[Klamath]], [[Redding]], [[Junktown]]
'''The Cave''', really easy to defend but a bit small. It's the only base map divided into two parts : One part is the cliff side, with the entrance of the cave on one side - an empty desert map - and the other part is the inside of the cave itself. It contains the usual [[crafting]] tools ([[Workbench]], [[still]]), a [[brahmin pen]] and only '''3 lockers'''. It's not a very good base since Depot has more containers and is sold at the same price, but cave has one advantage : It's really, really easy to defend it, because you just have to put [[mercs]] or [[slaves]] on the tiny cave entrance. The cave is the Only base you can purchase from all three of the base sellers, thus it is available from all three cities and their respective base seller in each. Because of this, the Cave is one of the most varied bases around as it can be found almost anywhere for a measly 30 000 caps.

==== Depot ====
[[File:Base-depot-medium.jpg|thumb|The ''Depot'' base]]
* '''Cost:''' 30 000 caps
* '''Towns:''' [[Klamath]]
'''Depot''' is a small outpost, with 3 lockers, 2 desks (one looks like a [[workbench]]), 2 shelves, and 2 table. '''9 containers total''' when you consider it also has a [[workbench]] with the standard toolboard for small storage above it and a [[still]]. There's also a [[brahmin pen]] containing one brahmin. On the map, you can find [[wood]] and [[flint]] (does not replenish). It's a good and cheap base, and the spawn is straight below the door and chairs outside. Guards can be present simply to the far right, near the trees, and they will have the small spawn area in their sight. Base location seems to typically be somewhere West of Klamath. The Depot is sold in Klamath, is the same price as the Cave, yet offers considerably more than a simple Cave. Depot can be purchased from the base seller, Smiley his name is, in Klamath, located in the bar and hotel at the Main entrance.

==== Scrapheap ====
[[File:Base-scrapheap-medium.jpg|thumb|The ''Scrapheap'' base ]]
* '''Cost:''' 70 000 caps
* '''Towns:''' [[Redding]]
'''Scrapheap''' is a popular base costing 70 000 caps. It is larger than Depot or Cave. Its location is often between Redding and Broken Hills. It contains '''5 lockers''', a [[workbench]], a [[still]] and a [[brahmin pen]]. Thus offering one of the lowest resources when compared to other bases, with the Cave being on similar grounds yet having a bigger brahmin pen and more brahmin than both Depot and Cave. Scrapheap is the specialty base sold from the Redding base seller, who is located in the Malamute Saloon, which is above the Doctors building.

==== Outpost ====
[[File:Factionbase-theoutpost.jpg|thumb| The ''Outpost'' base]]
* '''Cost:''' 130 000 caps
* '''Towns:''' [[Junktown]]
The '''outpost''' is one of the most expensive maps : It will cost you 130 000 caps! Very easy to defend because it is surrounded by walls, it has three buildings and two tents and is one of the best base maps. Its location on the [[worldmap]] will often be between [[NCR]] and [[Junktown]]. It has a dozen of lockers, a [[workbench]], a [[still]],and you can find there [[fruits]] and [[fibers]]. By far, the unique resources offered solely by this base make it one of the best choices, as it has a monopoly on fruit and fibers that no other base has, and also has the largest brahmin pen possible with many in it, meaning many a new char can shovel his poo in absolute safety. Outpost base is the specialty base sold from the Junktown base seller, who is located in the very first building after entering Junktown gates.

==== Trapper Camp ====
[[File:Base-trapper-camp.jpg|thumb| The ''Trapper Camp'' base]]
* '''Cost:''' 30 000 caps
* '''Towns:''' [[Klamath]]

==== Gasstation Camp ====
[[File:Base-gasstation-camp.jpg|thumb| The ''Gasstation Camp'' base]]
* '''Cost:''' 50 000 caps
* '''Towns:''' [[Redding]]

==== Old Bunker ====
[[File:Base-old-bunker-outside.jpg|thumb| The ''Old Bunker'' base, outside]]
[[File:Base-old-bunker-inside.jpg|thumb| The ''Old Bunker'' base, inside]]
* '''Cost:''' 500 000 caps, base available via [[Abandoned Bunker]] quest
* '''Towns:''' Unknown, base available via [[Abandoned Bunker]] quest
The '''bunker''' is by far the most expensive base. While the outside part of the map is very difficult to defend, an enemy will have a very difficult time getting to the inside of a well-guarded bunker. It has fifteen lockers, a crate near its [[still]], two computers that contain [[electronic parts]], a [[waterpump]], and three lockers in the walls that are difficult to see. The room that has four lockers in it is locked with a yellow keycard, making it easier to store your valuables in the event of a raid for a total of '''19 storage containers''' plus a [[workbench]]. Besides its massive amount of storage space, the front of the base has rocks that can be used to mine [[iron ore]] and [[minerals]], making this by far the best base money can buy. Oddly enough, the base has no brahmin pen.
