We have a lot of active players. We are one of the major town control (TC) gangs. Currently we are allied with Tim & Tom & Ted Lawyer Agency (TTTLA) as Children of Atom (CoA).
Above all Crazy 88 is a social group. Meaning we do things together whether it's TC or player versus player (PvP), helping new players, hunting or leveling.<br>
<br>
Crazy88's leader is LeonTheNorse, his second in command is John Porno.

Reqruitment
Crazy 88's ranks are open for recruits. You can file an application in our recruitment forum using our application form. Applications from guests don't show much eagerness to join and will not be taken seriously.
To be accepted as a recruit and wear our recruit tags on IRC, you will need 3 members to vote in your favour. You can accomplish this by being active in-game, on our forum and on our IRC channel. That way we can get to know you. Keep in mind that activeness is a requirement, but not the only one.

Offer
We offer:
# Friendly atmosphere
# The opportunity to meet new people from other countries
# Access to base(s)
# Free gear
# TC, PvP, training
# Group hunts, help with leveling and other in-game help
# Help with character builds

Requirements
We require:
# Being able to communicate in English. Both in speech and writing. We don't expect perfection, just as long as you can make yourself understood
# Respecting the rules introduced in the movie
# Being active in-game, on our IRC channel [irc://irc.forestnet.org/crazy88 #Crazy88] (clients) and on our forum
# Having Mumble installed
# Mature behaviour. No insulting, name calling, grieving, flaming, trolling, etc. in-game, on the official forum, IRC and our forum. Always keep in mind that your behaviour reflects on the rest of the gang!

The Rules of The Omegram
# Do not retreat from battles leaving your teammates behind. It's not really a matter of "bravery" but simple mathematics. If you die, we will help you to stand on your feet. But if you flee - you will be useless.
# If somebody is asking you to help, do it. Being friendly is actually the best way to make friends. <br> Also you should NOT kill other players without a good reason. PKs will be banished at once.
# If you take gear from the faction's storage, then you should leave something in exchange. Craft some stuff, bring some loot. Parasites will be punished.
# Visit clan's forum or IRC channel often. You don't have to play everyday, but you really should keep in contact. We like to know, how our members are doing.<br>Also learn how to use Mumble voice communicator if you want to take part in Town Control. It's not necessary, but make thing much easier.<br>One more thing: the faction's friends are your friends. You should know them and respect them.
# Be polite to all faction members. Yes, we represent many cultures, nationalities, ideologies, etc., but we're the same damn team! So if you can't respect opinions of others - then shut up!<br>Also keep in mind that FOnline: 2238 is only a game. Do NOT EVER take it more serious than your real-life, health, girlfriend, school, job, kids, beer etc.

Anti Player Killer
To understand this section, you first have to understand that anti player killer (APK) is a contradictio in terminis for all TC/PvP gangs. During TC and PvP you will encounter enemies and you will fight them. Therefore you will kill other players.<br>
Many people have different definitions of APK. Some say APK means you never kill another player. Others, like us, have a more realistic view and live by our own APK code.<br>
Crazy 88 considers itself as an APK gang. To us this means:
* we will shoot our enemies on sight
* we will shoot known PKs on sight
* we will shoot known suicide bombers and 1 hex bursters on sight
* we will shoot known thieves and grievers on sight
* we don't shoot strangers on sight. However when they shoot at us, we will shoot back
Despite the above sometimes someone gets killed unintentionally or undeserved. We can't help unintentional kills as these will most likely occur during fights. Our apologies when that happens. When you feel you've been wrongfully killed, for instance when entering one of our towns or during an encounter, talk with the killer and ask why. Make a screenshot when it happens. If you're not satisfied with the killer's answer or they don't answer at all, you can contact us on our IRC channel. With no proof and no names, we won't be able to clear things up.<br>
<br>
These rules only apply to Crazy 88. They don't apply for CoA during TC or PvP (see the following sections). Both the alliance and TC/PvP require us to follow a different set of rules for our safety.<br>
<br>
Please keep in mind that some players kill others and than claim to be from some gang.

Town control
Crazy 88 is a faction which actively participates in TC. Currently we do TC together with TTTLA under the name of CoA. We try to take other gangs' towns and try to defend ours. To do this we use various tactics and strategies partly based upon the town we fight in.
During battles and in preperation of them we communicate using Mumble. This includes those who don't have a microphone. Communication is key during combat, so Mumble is a must. Even if you can't quickly communicate because you have no microphone, our leader(s) in combat can quickly inform you and give orders.<br>
When we're doing TC we have no other choice than to consider all strangers enemies. We can't know if you're an innocent player or an enemy scout, loot stealer, suicide bomber, 1 hex burster, etc. So to not take chances you will be shot on sight during TC. This includes the time before starting the TC timer when we kill the militia and any known enemy present. Keep in mind that most TC gangs apply these same rules, so never enter a town when the TC-timer is running. We do warn people that there is a fight in progress and they should leave town for as long the hostilities are going on.<br>
When we kill you and you're an innocent player, you can come back for your stuff once the TC-timer is off and we have taken the town. Check your pipboy for that. We don't guarantee your stuff will still be there, we do guarantee that we won't loot it.
When we control a town, we will try to keep it clean of PKs. When we control a town with a mine, we will try to keep the mine clean of PKs as well.

Player versus Player
We do PvP in New Reno. This might be as a small group with some none Crazy 88 friends, as a group of Crazy 88 or with our allies TTTLA. In New Reno no one can be considered innocent as everyone there is most likely there to scout, to loot or to kill.

Mariposa Military Base was a top-secret United States military facility built to house Forced Evolutionary Virus research previously conducted at West Tek, located somewhere in the area of the Mariposa unincorporated community in California. The name Mariposa means "butterfly" in Spanish.

History
Pre-war history
The construction of Mariposa started in October 2076 when large progress was made in FEV research, and the government preferred to move the project to a location under military supervision. On January 7, 2077, Major Barnett ordered transfer of all FEV research to the newly-constructed Mariposa Base, despite objections by the research team. Along with the scientists, a military team commanded by colonel Robert Spindel, which previously monitored the experiments at West Tek was sent to Mariposa. Spindel's second-in-command was captain Roger Maxson. The FEV project was moved to Mariposa and tested on human subjects. The vats were giant tanks filled with liquid FEV. As part of the research project, human subjects were dipped inside them and then examined to learn how to control and harness the process. The experiments on humans were kept secret even from Spindel and his soldiers.

Wartime events
On October 10, Maxson and his men were horrified to discover that the scientists at Mariposa were using military prisoners as test subjects in their experiments with the Forced Evolutionary Virus. Morale in the base broke down, and Spindel suffered a mental breakdown, eventually committing suicide 5 days later. Maxson's men turned to him for leadership.

After interrogating Robert Anderson, the chief scientist, and learning about the extent of their actions, Maxson executed him, and the other scientists soon followed. Maxson, now in control of the entire base, declared himself to be in full desertion from the army via radio on October 20. Strangely, he got no response, as the rest of the army was busy fighting the Chinese threat. Three days later, the bombs were launched, and the Great War ended two hours after it started.

The Mariposa Military Base survived, the soldiers within protected from the radiation and FEV flooding the wasteland. Two days later at Mariposa, a scout in Power Armor (Platner) was sent out to get specific readings on the atmosphere. He reported no significant radiation in the area surrounding the facility. After burying the scientists in the wastes outside of Mariposa, the soldiers sealed the military base, then headed out into the desert, taking supplies and weapon schematics with them. Captain Maxson led his men and families to the government bunker at Lost Hills, eventually forming the Brotherhood of Steel.

The base was left sealed, but over the years, it slowly fell into disrepair, and eventually various creatures made their way inside, mutating due to FEV exposure and infesting the surrounding area, attacking fledgling human settlements and caravans. The problem was becoming increasingly severe, to the point when Harold, a caravan master from the Hub, mounted an expedition in 2102 to locate and destroy the source of mutants.

Master's Army
Dr. Richard Grey was one of the explorers who was part of the expedition. Harold led the men into Mariposa, but failed to account for the automated defenses, which were still online, and promptly attacked the explorers. Taking heavy casualties, they made their way to the deepest, fourth level, the F.E.V Vats, where a crane smashed into the two surviving explorers, Harold and Richard Grey. The former was knocked out, the latter landed in one of the virus vats, succumbing to a severe overdose.

In pain, horribly mutated, he crawled into the control room, as his intellect grew. In a few days, he was neurolinked to the base computer, drawing upon its sizeable databanks. As he created the idea of the Unity, wanderers began to enter the facility, and Grey patiently captured and dipped them, in order to create beings as perfect as him. When the first true supermutants were created, he set out to create a true mutant army, at the same time deciding to look for a permanent base of operations. In 2155, one of his patrols located a group of vault dwellers from the LA Vault, and he made the decision to transfer himself there, occupying the Vault.

The base was entrusted to the Lieutenant, one of the greatest supermutant minds to exist. Mariposa was rebuilt and cleaned up, once again becoming the magnificent military base it was before the war. Supermutants roamed the halls, restocking the armories and medical base and soon it became the staging area for their assault on humanity, as well as the only supermutant production center.

Then came the Vault Dweller in 2162. It is unknown whether or not he infiltrated the base or blasted his way in - suffice to say, once he was through, Mariposa was little more than a caved-in, smoldering ruin

Enclave's excavations
In 2236, the Enclave discovered the remnants of the Mariposa Base. Soon, assault squads combed the desert for slaves they could use to mine the military base and get to the vats. One of the squads included soldier Frank Horrigan. Enclave construction crews, as well as human and super mutant slaves began excavations. In September they uncovered FEV, and mutations began to occur in the human workers. Frank Horrigan comes into contact with the virus and is sent to the Enclave labs for study.

In 2237, having obtained the FEV data, the Enclave abandoned the site after more mutations occurred, causing 2nd Generation super mutants to arise. The Enclave left a single squad behind to wipe out the super mutants, but the mutants, using armaments they had cached in the base during excavation, reduced the squad to ashes after suffering heavy casualties. The remaining 1st and 2nd Generation super mutant slaves decided to remain in the Base, and the group formed a new community under the leadership of Melchior, whose magic talents had allowed them to hide the weapons.

The Master, screaming at the Vault Dweller

|-
|}

History
Most people in L.A. died after the bombs dropped, due to radiation poisoning, disease, famine, and each other. Some, however, took shelter in the demonstration Vault, and eventually most of them emerged in 2092, founding the Boneyard. Many of them were the founders of Adytum, a fenced town in the suburbs of the old Los Angeles.

In 2155, the Master learned the location of the L.A. Vault, conquered the inhabitants and set up operations there, and the human cultists began to use the Vault as their powerbase. Eventually, a monumental building known as the Cathedral was constructed above the Vault. The Cultists thus became known as the Children of the Cathedral.

The Children of the Cathedral (commonly abbreviated CoC) were a widespread religious cult that the Master established as a cover for his activities and to spread his philosophy.

Doctrine
The beliefs of the Cathedral's Children base on the belief that the nuclear holocaust (referred to as the Holy Flame, the Sacred Fire), invoked by human greed, corruption and selfishness was a chance to begin anew. It is the proverbial light that nearly destroyed humanity. The Master is the antithesis, the Dark God, waiting in the Darkness below (quite literally), leading his children into a new era of peace and unity.

He brings about the Unity, through which the Nexus of Rebirth will be reached, during which all the worthy ones will be baptized in the holy FEV and become the next generation of humans. When everyone reaches this next stage of evolution, the Age of Peace will come, when there will be no more war and no more suffering.

The Children believed in expanding their influence through all possible means. Nightkin would assault cities assisted by Cathedral cultists, while loyal servants would head into the wastes and establish hospitals and offer healing to the body and the spirit. The Master's plan was to unify all and bring them into the glory that is his master plan.

The Hidden Face
The Children of the Cathedral were more than a creepy but altruistic cult. The entire religion was elaborated by the Master to cultivate a pool of normal human operatives in the wastes and to prepare the world for his coming. In 2151 Morpheus, a leader of a doomsday oriented cult and a former member of the Rippers, a familiar gang of inbred, was found by the Master's spies, and pledged his followers to him, forming the future core of the Children. Every person the CoC converted to their faith was one more person who could willingly be dipped in FEV. The CoC doctrine largely echoed the Master's own thoughts on humanity, specifically in mankind's inadequacy to live in civilization and the urgent need for drastic evolution. All Children eagerly awaited their chance to be baptized in the great baptismal font to the north - the vats of FEV in the Military Base.

The Cathedral was held by nightkin, elite super mutants equipped with Stealth Boys to make them semi-invisible. Underneath the Cathedral was the seat of the Master's power: the Los Angeles Vault. A vault with no number, the LA Vault was meant to serve as a demonstration of the Vault technology by the Vault-Tec company. It was used during the war but evacuated soon after, leading to the formation of Adytum and the other Boneyard communities. The Master eventually discovered the abandoned Vault and moved in. From there, he plotted his grand scheme for the evolution of humanity through FEV until the Vault Dweller destroyed him in 2162. With the loss of the Cathedral, the Master and the Military Base (also destroyed that same year by the Vault Dweller), the Children disbanded.

Structure
Hierarchy
Brother Morpheus, leader of the Children of the Cathedral.
Jain - Hub ElderThe lowest ranking members of the Cathedral cult were Initiates, used as menial workers or indoctrinated cannon fodder, used against the enemies of the cult whenever Nightkin involvement was deemed unnecessary. An initiate that has completed his assigned tasks could be elevated to the rank of Scribe or Scholar, the latter tasked with spreading the gospel of the Holy Flame and sent as healers throughout the wastelands to build up support for the cult and prepare weapon stockpiles for the imminent invasion. This lowest ranking group is commonly referred to as Acolytes.

Servitors were the "officers" of the cult, who have undergone intense brainwashing and indoctrination in the Inner Sanctum of the Cathedral and whose faith is unquestioned. They are given vital assignments and considered trustworthy enough to know of the true foundation of the cult - the Master. A separate caste, the High Order, grouped Servitors who were tasked with the most delicate of assignments.

Elders were the leaders, ensuring that Cathedral operations ran smoothly, sometimes operating in the field (as was the case with Jain). The most well known figure is certainly Father Lasher, who disciplined the members of the cult and was a firm believer in not sparing the prod.

The Children of the Cathedral were led by a man called Morpheus, who was one of the first men converted by the Master to his ideology. A devout, intelligent and loyal man, Morpheus was tasked with overseeing the Children's operations and ensuring the indoctrination. He answered directly to Richard Moreau.

Locations
In order to spread their message, The Children ran a number of hospitals in various places around the wastes. The largest was in the Water Merchants' section of the Hub where young children handed out flowers to visitors and free medical care was available to anyone who was wounded. Jain, an important Child of the Cathedral, resided in the Children's Hub hospital.

The Children also maintained a small, ragged clinic in the ghoul city of Necropolis where two Children provided medicine in exchange for money until they were forced to leave when the Vault Dweller eliminated the super mutant garrison at the water shed. Finally, in Junktown, a doctor from the Children would move into one of the buildings after 80 days from the start of the game.

The main Children of the Cathedral operation, though, was in the actual Cathedral. Located somewhere in the Boneyard, the ruins of Los Angeles and a few miles south of Adytum, the Cathedral was home to High Priest Lasher, a sadistic priest, and High Priest Morpheus, the human leader of the Children. According to Morpheus, there were thirteen such High Priests in charge of delivering the Master's gospel to the Children. Dozens if not hundreds of worshipers could be found in and around the Cathedral, either on some pilgrimage or just preaching the word of the Holy Flame.
Some, however, founded other communities, like the Blades, the Rippers, the Followers of the Apocalypse and the Gun Runners.

In the 2150s, a pack of deathclaws appeared in the Boneyard, taking over the base of the Rippers. In 2159 Jon Zimmerman, the town's mayor, hired a band of mercenaries known as the Regulators to help protect Adytum from the deathclaw and the odd random attack by raiders, who by 2161 were in control of Adytum.

By 2241, Los Angeles became one of the states of the New California Republic and Adytum became known as New Adytum.

Communities
Adytum
Adytum or Adytown is a small industrial town in the southern section of the Boneyard, founded by the inhabitants of the demonstration Vault. The community was fairly self-sufficent, growing its own food and manufacturing ammunition from chemical components garnered on-location (from Brahmin dung for example) to exchange for necessary supplies. Aside from the inhabitants eking out an existence, the Adytum is home to several scavengers under the informal leadership of Sammael, who comb the city for long lost artifacts and information.

The town was well fortified, surrounded by a double chainlink fence and patrolled by armed Regulators. However, it became dependent on deliveries from the Hub when their hydroponic farms broke down, with the merchants abusing their position as the sole sustenance of the community, making a tidy profit on ammunition from Adytum.

The Rippers
The Rippers were a familiar gang of inbreds from the LA Boneyard, prone to violently attacking anything and anyone not related to them. They initially lived where the Mother Deathclaw is in the Boneyard, as evidenced by the "Ripper!" movie poster outside her house hutch. They had a fortified building with traps and landmines around it where they took prisoners to be tortured and killed. They were arch-enemies of the Blades. They were probably either killed by the Deathclaws or moved somewhere else when the giant lizards took over their fortress, until they eventually again were exterminated by the Gun Runners who took over the fortress and started a business there, surrounded by deadly toxic moat.

The leader of the Rippers was called Tangler, whose characteristic feature was a cybernetic hand. Interestingly, Morpheus, leader of the Children of the Cathedral, also used to be a member of this gang.

Followers of the Apocalypse
The Followers of the Apocalypse inhabit a library in the western segment of the Boneyard. Lead by Nicole, the Followers are dedicated to scholarship and to ensuring that humanity does not repeat the mistakes that led to the Great War.

While ostensibly like the Children of the Cathedral in being dedicated to the cause of spreading peace throughout the wasteland, they are suspicious of the latter's motives. Talius, a ghoul-like mutant partially exposed to FEV by the Master's forces, found refuge among the Followers, and helped them understand the true nature of the Children.

After the death of the Master, the Followers of the Apocalypse became a major influence in the newly-founded New California Republic. With the Vault Dweller's help, they gained control of the LA Boneyard.

The Blades
The Blades are a group of survivalists led by a woman named Razor, living in a pre-war nightclub in the Boneyard north of Adytum.

While a peaceful group, they are persecuted by the Regulators, who both coerce them into doing their bidding and frame them for crimes against the people of Adytum. This makes it appear that the Adytowners are seriously threatened by the Blades; a convenient pretext for the Regulators' own repressive policies.

While relatively unarmed, a man named MacRae teaches the Blades his knowledge of combat skills as self-defense, and guards their front-door entrance from intruders. He is mainly the only 'representative' the Regulators parley with; however, there is little peace-talk. If the Vault Dweller agrees to help the Blades fight the Regulators, they will be instructed to go to the Gun Runners' fort and ask their leader for weapons and ammunition. After the Vault Dweller does what is asked, the Blades storm Adytum fully geared (the Vault Dweller may be in the fight as well if the player wishes).

The Gun Runners
The Gun Runners are a "gang" operating out of a fortified factory in the north-eastern part of the Los Angeles Boneyard.

Originally, they were a normal gang, like the Skulz, Blades etc., which had come to the Boneyard from the Hub in hopes of securing their own territory in the city. Shortly after arriving, approximately thirty years before Fallout takes place, they decided to start a gunrunning business, having settled themselves in an abandoned factory with functioning manufacturing equipment which they used to assemble high-tech weapons and ammunition. Up until roughly ten years before Fallout takes place, they had been using their own supplies of scrap metal in their manufacturing process, but since running out they have had to rely on trade with Adytum to support their business. Once the Regulators began running Adytum, trade between the two groups became far less fair with respect to the Gun Runners, and they began to grow desperate in search of another location which they could use to supply themselves. However, the Deathclaws, which had taken up residence in the Boneyard, made such a difficult move impossible. This is where the Vault Dweller stepped in.

When the Vault Dweller cleaned out the warehouse of Deathclaws, the Gun Runners were free to begin a regular trading route with the other groups in the LA Boneyard. This activity was impossible before, due to the Deathclaws. Their first move was to give arms and armor to the Blades, who then went on to free Adytum of the Regulators' oppression, creating New Adytum in its place.

The factory/fortress itself is surrounded by a pool of highly toxic waste, and the only way across is a single wooden plank, connecting the two sides of the moat.

As of 2162, their leader is Gabriel, a charismatic man, equipped with a Winchester P94 and Combat Armor. His right hand man is a dwarf named Zack, who sells the weapons the Gun Runners manufacture.

The Gun Runners guarding the outside of the factory were equipped with DKS-501 sniper rifles and Combat Armor. Those inside had Metal Armor, Shotguns, Desert Eagles and an L72 BigBazooka.

The Children of the Cathedral
Children of the Cathedral (commonly abbreviated CoC) were a widespread religious cult that the Master established as a cover for his activities and to spread his philosophy.
