A tent is a small hideout that you can create easily. Stuff stored inside the tent is safe, which makes it a must have for the beginners. After four weeks, if nobody entered your tent, it will be deleted.

How to make a tent
- Gather 10 brahmin hides, by buying them or killing brahmins.
- Go to a random encounter location (The map must be totally empty).
- Use science on the 10 brahmin hides in your inventory. A message will be displayed, and the map will be turned into a tent map. If you have any followers with you, they will also gain access to that tent : Make sure no one is with you in the encounter.
- If you have an old tent, it will be destroyed: You can only create one tent per character.
If your map was a coastal desert, then you will access to the coastal tent map. If it was a map with ruins, it will be in the ruins, etc.
As said above, if you make a tent and there are people on the same map, that tagged you, they will gain access to that tent. However, this new one won't count as if they had created one.
If player X creates a tent, and player Y has access to it, Y can still create a tent and have access to both, however, X won't be able to create another tent without deleting his first one. Y can also have access to an infinite amount of tents, as long as he is not their founder.
If the creator of a shared tent is deleted using a command, the other players that had access to that tent will still be able to access it.
Extra Information
Nobody can enter a tent unless he followed you, so take care. People like to arrow you and follow you, and if you're not cautious and don't look at who you're carrying, you may introduce enemies into your tent. But if you're not carrying people into your tent, then stuff stored inside is totally safe.
Your tent has got one container, but may contain an infinite amount of stuff, since you can harmlessly put stuff on the floor. Gangs may use some tents instead of outposts, to store fighting gear or their fresh loot.
It's possible (and common practise) to drop items en masse outside a tent. This is helpful because the tent has only one container and some tent owners prefer to keep the container free of clutter. Dropping items on the ground also provides a quick way of visualising which items have been collected. Items dropped outside the tent will never disappear unless the tent is culled as mentioned above (no players visit it for four weeks)
Limits
Unlike a faction base, for example, you can't add or remove persons in a tent. People that gain access by following you and standing next to you during the creation will have permanent access. It has also only one locker, which is difficult to manage for a large gang.
Tents are only useful as a personal hideout, since one would better gain access to a factions base quickly. They have the advantage not to require a faction name (Costing 30k caps), though.
After four weeks, if nobody entered your tent, it will be deleted.
