Shit shoveling is a good way to earn easy xp on low level (till about level 5 after that it becomes a drag) and good for getting some fast caps.

Introduction to the shoveling of shit
If you want to shovel shit the only thing you have to do is go to the brahmin pens in any city and start using a shovel on the shit you see laying around. If you don't have a shovel you can ask one from the brahmin herdsman, they are usually around the brahmin pens.
For every shit you shovel you get 10 xp and a certain amount of caps depending on the town you shovel the shit in (see below).
Location of the brahmin pens
There are brahmin pens in a lot of towns. Here is a list of town that have one :
- NCR, in the outter part of the town, in the western city side.
- The Hub, near the city main entrance.
- Junktown, into the town.
- Redding, near the South Side entrance, at the west.
- Modoc, near the [[[slaughterhouse]].
- Klamath, near the city main entrance.
- Vault City, in the outter city part, above the slaves pen, below Happy Harry shop.
- Gecko, in the middle of the city.
- Broken Hills, at the south of the city main entrance.
- Ghost Farm, in the outside.
- In Boneyard there is no brahmin pen but there is a brahmin walking around that craps all over the place so if you want you could shovel there too. Note : there is no brahmin herdsman in Boneyard so you will have to bring your own shovel and you won't get any caps for it.
Reward
- For each shit shoveled, you get 10 xp.
- For each shit shoveled, you get a certain amount of caps :
Talk to the brahmin herdsman after having cleaned some shit to receive your caps reward.
Advices
- If you are low level be sure to stay in NCR, The Hub or Junktown as these are safe towns were you won't get killed by a random player-killer. Otherwise, shit-cleaners get shot easily when they finish their cleaning work and receive their caps...
- If you only shovel shit in NCR or The Hub till you reach level 5 you get around 6k caps when you are done and this is very useful for buying your first gun, armour or profession, and, why not ? Buying your very first base...
