The Old Shovel is mainly used for shit shovelling and can be obtained by talking to a brahmin herder at various brahmin pens in towns. This item can also be found in the inventories of Salvagers in random encounters, usually around Boneyard.
When using this weapon to shovel shit, be sure to have the mode set to Use on with a yellow target cursor, and not a red one, or else you might accidentally attack a brahmin.
The Shovel does slightly more damage as a weapon, and can also be used for the same purposes as the Old Shovel.
