It usually comes "soon", and takes away all hard-earned caps, items and experience.
It is a wipe of part of server database, where player information is stored. That means no one will have anything after the wipe.
Developers opinion:
But there is no date set and no wipe planned. If a wipe has to come, we will announce it some time before.
