Talk:Brian Fargo

Isn't this a bit out of 2238 wiki scope? Maybe if you mention him somewhere and want a link, then link to an external page, for example Brian Fargo article on Wikipedia etc --JovankaB (talk) 21:50, 5 June 2012 (CEST)

It was listed as a "Wanted Page" so i added it. --Marko (talk) 15:13, 5 June 2012 (CST)
That list is made automatically of red links. I would simply remove the link or replace it with external link to Wikipedia. Same about Interplay Entertainment, it's not really directly related to FOnline:2238 so there is no reason to explain these things here, especially that you can find this on Wikipedia (and it fits there better) IMHO. --JovankaB (talk) 06:06, 6 June 2012 (CEST)
Understood. I actually had started by removing red links where they seemed to be excessive but Roni pointed out that it's best to leave them - red links are not really a problem - adding content is better. I agree with that now. So in the case, for example, of Brian Fargo, it's easy to find an external source, copy a tiny-but-relevant portion of it and add a page for quick, internal reference. Players who might not know anything about Brian Fargo thus can quickly see a brief intro to who is who, without opening an external source, but follow the external source too, if they want to read it all. At least that's how i think about this now but i'll conform to whatever standards this editing community chooses. I'm the new guy ;) --Marko (talk) 10:49, 6 June 2012 (CST)
It doesn't matter if you are new or old, you contributed a lot to the wiki already. I simply try to figure out what real value would these pages bring to players who are looking for 2238 information, and I can't find any. But if other editors and developers are OK with this, then cool. I would only advise to not turn it into Fallout franchise wiki, because there is one on the Web already: fallout.wikia.com :P And if you add Brian Fargo then to be consistent you would have to add many other pages about Fallout... so please reconsider again if it really makes sense. --JovankaB (talk) 08:55, 7 June 2012 (CEST)

No copy-pasting entire Wikipedia articles on my watch. Prof. Torr (talk) 14:13, 22 June 2012 (CEST)
