One the other hand, a large faction going into [[Town Control]] or other [[PvP]] ops won't have to green each other per player, per character, one by one. Instead, this feature can bring all faction members into 100% color compliance with all other members of the same faction without having to green each other one by one. This saves time, eliminates errors, uses a different color then green for [[PvP]] ops, and thus leaves green available for use regarding other friends who are not members of your faction.

The file NameColorizing.txt in root folder of the game contains player names and colors for these players. You can define color templates there and then link them to player names.

Note: As of Changelog 30/08/2010 and Server Wipe (http://fonline2238.net/forum/index.php?topic=8618.0)

  • Namecolorizing works only on players sharing the same faction.

No reason for this has been posted, sadly. But it makes this feature almost useless because you don't really need to color your team mates other than green, although coloring thieves, trolls, PKs, business partners and such does help a lot. One the other hand, a large faction going into Town Control or other PvP ops won't have to green each other per player, per character, one by one. Instead, this feature can bring all faction members into 100% color compliance with all other members of the same faction without having to green each other one by one. This saves time, eliminates errors, uses a different color then green for PvP ops, and thus leaves green available for use regarding other friends who are not members of your faction.

Example:

# YOU MUST RENAME THIS FILE TO NameColorizing.txt OTHERWISE IT WON'T WORK
#
# Player names and contours colorizer.
# - Everyone missing from the list will have a global karma nick color. To disable it, type name with only "*".
# - Instead of space, type "&". For example: "One&Two" is equal to "One Two".
# - You can use "*" and "?" characters in name, the first case skips one or more letters, second only one.
