'''History'''
+

GN13 was started in September 2011. The wise Armour craftsman Chess was crafting armours for new players at hub and had help from his partner Riva. As they were working together a person by the name of Accents, a hunter from Junktown, also joined them. These three later organized every person they could find and started helping more and more new comers. Soon we had purchased our very first base, and many more after that. Guns and armours were made and soon members started power leveling. Now GN13 is a organized group of dedicated non-Pks.

GN13 is a Non-Pk faction, meaning that we do not shoot bluesuits randomly without reason. If you were planning on joining an organized group of raiders, your at the wrong place. GN13 also does not accept any form of player killing from its members. We help people, not shoot them in the face randomly.

Think of them as levels of trust. We should all feel better about our own team where there are specific methods to build trust. Occasionally we will find someone who seems good at first but ends up leaving, or needing to leave. Reasons vary - don't worry about it - it's a game. Meanwhile i suggest the following process:
+

+
'''ACQAINTANCE'''
+
You've met them and you remember each other
+

+
'''POSITIVE CONTACT'''
+
An acquaintance with whom you've spent more time talking and you both seem to click pretty well. You're hoping to talk with them more soon, and introduce them to some team mates. Note: just because someone is a positive contact does not mean they should be recruited. I am semi-friends with a few PK types (when they are being nice) and i in no way would want them to join us).
+

+
'''POTENTIAL (or Hopeful)'''
+
More than just a positive contact, a potential is someone you've spent enough time with that you're hoping they join, and hoping the rest of the team agrees. Not every positive contact is a potential - i've met some PK players who behave well under other alts, and while i would call them positive contacts because we get along well, they are PKs normally, and are already in a PK faction. Some potentials can be brought to a base and introduced (without adding them). Note: normally all base visitors should load and review our MISSION STATEMENT (MA) as an early step to introduction. It's best to inform your potentials of our expectations, described here under RECRUIT, INITIATE, and FULL MEMBER.
+

+
'''RECRUIT'''
+
We've met them, we like them, they like us, they like the MA, and want to join. We add them to a base terminal and thus they become new recruit. We should cover a whole checklist of basic training items with new recruits, regardless of their playing experience, including:
+

+
Where to Log Off (and where not to)
+
How to use radios (and how not to use radios)
+
Communication via Mumble (at least mention this even if they cannot do it)
+
How to use distress signal
+
When to use Turn-Based vs. Real Time
+
Proper Use of Cars
+
Base Security
+
What is Expected of Members: multi-characters, some hunting, some crafting, some mining, some Hinkley training, some TC
+

+
All new recruits, regardless of playing experience, should also complete the following first assignments:
+

+
1) Bring 3 new holotapes to a base, available for 500 caps a piece (one at a time) at Boneyard Library
+
2) Bring enough raw materials to make 500 rounds of their favorite ammo.
+
3) Level up to 15 or higher
+
4) Go on some group hunts to establish TB combat coordination with team mates.
+

+
'''INITIATE'''
+
Recruits don't stay recruits for long, we hope. Get through the orientation checklist and complete the assignments and a recruit should be ready to be initiated as a faction member, at which time they are "invited" and stationed at a particular base where they can access the terminal.
+

+
'''MEMBER'''
+
Okay now we're rollin'. Been on multiple hunts, leveling well, team coordination good, good dependable reputation. Typically by now such a player has realized the need for multiple characters and has started at least one extreme fighter. The realization that our first character was not built well enough to be an effective fighter for Town Control, is something most of us experience. Then we accept it, designate our first as a crafter maybe, and move on with studying builds more closely. A GN13 full member would be such a player, and hopefully contribute here in our faction's forum.
+

+
When a member achieves this level of "full membership", it might be fun to have a little ceremony of sorts! Whomever is on and ready can dress in blueshirt (full members in black leather jackets) and stand in a crowd behind initiate. Leaders wear tan robes and stand in semi-circle around initiate, speak some official-sounding words, and hand them their honorary black leather jacket. Time to use F3 to get a screen shot - fun!
+

+
'''CAPTAINS'''
+
Those extreme fighter characters that reach level 21. Not any level 21 character, but those with the best builds for fighting. Review the builds posted here by Panzer - they are tweaked to be the most effective in TC combat. Ceremony: everyone dress in whatever is your best armor and stand in a circle around the new captain. Say something official and hand them tan robes lol. Then pile on him lol! Punch him and pose for F3 group photo.
+

+
But...where does it go from here?
+

+
'''LEADER'''
+
I'm asking you. Someone who regularly logs on and constantly contributes in special ways, helps new people well, communicates here and hopefull on whatever voice chat we use (Mumble!), will step easily into a leadership role. In fact, if they do all those things, they already have. Another ceremony is in order! Whomever is on, dress the same again, but leaders wear purple robes and hand a BA to the new leader. F3 - smile for a group picture!
+

+
'''Recruitment'''
+

+
To join GN13 post your application on this website http://generic13.freeforums.org . Or find Chess, Riva, Panzer Faust, or Stolckhom in game. It would also be good if you had Mumble and a mic for Town Control.

== GN13 Mission Statement ==
+

+
1) Build a cooperative team of like-minded players to play honorably and enjoy the game.
+

+
2) To help all players play the game better, and especially help newer players get started.
+

+
3) To oppose tyranny and overly brutal play styles that threaten to suppress the game's most exclusive features like:
+

+
  Buying cars in New Reno
+

+
Mining HQ materials and Uranium in unguarded mines
+

+
  Safely socializing in all towns
+

+
4) To help bring order to the wasteland by directing brutality to Town Control ops and to Hinkley where fights are expected and thus conducted in a more fair manner.
+

+
5) To provide a safe haven for honorable players who need help
+

+
6) To become highly competitive with experienced teams in the battles for Town Control
+

+
7) To win the vertibird race
+

+
(For a more complete version of our MA, please contact GN13 on our public radio channel, 1313 and ask to load our mission statement tape. We are busy building a media library with game and faction info that you can upload to your Pip-Boy Archives.)
