The year 2238 is (surprisingly) the year of FOnline:2238. It is situated right before the beginning of Fallout 2), and 76 years after the end of Fallout 1.

A few steps back...

• 2220 : Election of Richard "Dick" Richardson, the Enclave's leader, and the president of the USA. Enclave develops the Adv. Power Armor MKII.
• 2231 : The Chosen One is born in Arroyo.
• 2235 : Building of Gecko.
• 2236 : An Enclave's scout finds the remains of the Mariposa Military Base. The excavation process begins, searching for the FEV. Frank Horrigan gets in contact with the virus and begins to mutate.
• 2237 : The Enclave abandons the Mariposa Military Base, having obtained the FEV data, taking with it Frank Horrigan that is gradually mutating.

2238

• Xoen loses his focking cow.

Later on : 2239-2242

• 2241 : Junktown becomes a part of the NCR state.
• 2241 : Fallout 2 begins.
• 2242 : Vault 13 is opened and attacked by the Enclave. Later, Fallout 2 ends.
