Disassembling or Dismantling is the use the Science skill on most weapons or armors to get various resources. This can not be done during combat.
The Science skill determines what resources, if any, you will receive from disassembling:
- The higher your skill, the more chance you will have of getting more/better resources.
- Junk, Metal Parts, and Alloys can be obtained from weapons.
- Fibers, Gecko Pelt, Golden Gecko Pelt and Brahmin Hides can be obtained from armors.
- Some low-tier items, such as the 9mm Mauser will never give any resources?
- High Quality resources cannot be obtained through disassembling an item?
- Weapons that can stack in number (throwing weapons, sledgehammers, brass knuckles, etc.) cannot be disassembled.
Pipe Rifle is currently only item you receive 20 XP for disassembling.
