Dismantling

Disassembling or Dismantling is the use the Science skill on most weapons or armors to get various resources.

The Science skill determines what resources, if any, you will receive from disassembling weapons:

• Junk, Metal Parts, and Alloys can be obtained through disassembling weapons.
• Fibers and Brahmin Hides can be obtained from armors.
• High Quality resources cannot be obtained through disassembling an item.
• Some low-tier items, such as the 9mm Mauser will never give any resources.
• The higher your skill, the more chance you will have of getting more/better resources.
• Weapons that can stack in number (throwing weapons, sledgehammers, brass knuckles, etc.) cannot be disassembled.

You will always receive 20 XP from disassembling an item. This can not be done during combat.
